Anti Yams

We officially have four food eaters in our house.
So far, I have made Taylor some bananas and sweet potatoes. She wasn't too fond of the sweet potatoes, but she loved them when I mixed them with her bananas.  Uh, yuck!
(Note: slow shutter speed = blurry pics)

I had half of a sweet potato left over after making Taylor's baby food.  I mashed it up with some cinnamon, sugar, and butter and let Christian eat it while he was playing computer games.  I had to constantly remind him to take another bite (he is an awful eater).  Ryan noticed that he kept running into his room and closing the door.  He checked it out but didn't notice anything suspicious.  Later that night, I was cleaning up Christian's room and noticed this:
Can you see it?
Every little bite that I made him take.  Not even a tooth mark in them.
I also cleaned out his closet and found more, only these were petrified:

Parents Retreat

We went to Malakoff last Saturday by ourselves... just the big folk.  One of our brokers had a party at his lake house.  If this was my lake house, it would be my permanent residency!  I loooooved his place.  He has an infinity pool that I was completely amazed by (which makes up for almost half of my pictures).  Malakoff is on the way to our farm, so he said to call him up any time we are headed that way and we can take the boat out.  I don't know if he meant that to just be a polite gesture, but we took it as a legally bound invitation!  He might need a restraining order on us.

Da' big folk (with waaay faded tans)
Da' lake house - inside was a trough of HUGE shrimp.  I spent a lot of time hovered over that.
Ryan and the guys played a lot of slurred football
Under the tent to the right there was mounds of delicious BBQ and a full bar.
Ryan manned the bar so the bartender could ride the waverunners.

The Town that Time Forgot

We went on a little excursion yesterday and ventured down the street behind our neighborhood.  This is the place that Ryan has dubbed "The Town that Time Forgot".  On our journey we spotted multiple tractors, corn fields, old brick buildings, and farm animals.  It reminds me of going out to our farm.  We stopped to take pictures at the old bank and a man named J.R. came out to greet us.  He was a very friendly older man, even brought out some toy dump trucks for Christian to play with, and seemed to know all about the little town's history.  He told us that Bonnie and Clyde had stopped in the very spot we were standing to eat ice cream, but never did rob their bank (I researched this and found it to be true).
J.R. invited us to watch his son train their horses.  Christian was more interested in his chickens, though.  He likes to torment them.  Ryan and I promised to come back and are even going to start purchasing eggs from them.  It sure beats paying $7 a carton for our usual grain fed organic cage-free eggs.  J.R.'s eggs are all of the above and only $1 a dozen!  Can't beat that!
We really want to check out the 200 year old cemetery!
We brought our bulldog, Hemi, with us thinking he needed the exercise. He barely made it down the street before calapsing. Ryan had to run him back home. When we returned he had exploded from both ends all over the laundry room!  I had to make dinner, get both kids cleaned and in bed, and make lunches for the following day. Since Ryan couldn't think of any excuses he got clean-up duty.  Poor guy!

This is actually the site on the railroad tracks where all the materials to start building Mansfield were dropped.

This bank was spared by Bonnie and Clyde, though they did have ice cream next door.
 It closed during the Depression.

Please vote for Christian

I entered Christian's picture in a photo contest.  I am not even quite sure what happens if he wins.  Haha!
And yes, you do have to register with the site.  You can always just make up a fake email address if you are worried about spam, or select not to recieve mail.  Be sure to vote for him every day!  One vote per visitor per photo per day.
Please vote for him!

Thank you!

7.4.10

We started out the Sunday like we usually do.  We all went to church, then Ryan and I taught Sunday School for the preschoolers.  I just happened to dress the babies in red, white, and blue without even thinking about the coincidence.
The day ended with a BIG BANG.
I. mean. huge.
We went out to our Barnett Shale land manager's house. We swam in the pool, fished a little, played some baseball, had tons of food, and for dessert we had a massive artillery of fireworks.  Ryan bought me some nasty Mike's Hard Margaritas to try.  I definitely do not recommend them.  I much prefer the little Jose Cuervo kind, which are harder to find.  Good thing I am not much of a drinker!

Chrstian played with my boss's grandkids, Aiden and Holden.

This is my sweet boss.  He really is one of the nicest guys I know.
The boys took it upon themselves to find a spot to wind down.  Smarty pants!
