Antibiotics and Asthma

Great article!
Me and my family try to avoid antibiotics as much as possible.  I think I have had one round in the last 5 years (I was developing bacterial pneumonia and had swine flu for almost 3 weeks).  Much of our society is now immune to antibiotics because they are so overprescribed.  Superbugs are on the rise because of this.
How many times has your doctor given you an antibiotic for a cough just to get you out of his hair?  Did he even test for bacteria?  Antibiotics are only supposed to be prescribed for a serious bacterial infection.  A virus can NOT be stopped with an antibiotic because the virus is not alive.  Antibiotics work by killing off the live bacteria (Thus the term "anti", meaning "not", and "biotic", meaning "alive.)  Using an antiobiotic for anything other that a living bacterial infection would be like using weed killer on astroturf.  If the virus does go away, its simply because the body's immune system did its job perfectly.
Even this website, which is pretty mainstream, is warning against the overuse of antibiotics.
The moral here is: Don't always trust your doctor.  They definitely don't know everything.  Trust your instincts and ASK QUESTIONS.  LOTS.
There is a great brand called Similasan, sold at most Walgreen's or CVS's, that works miracles on many ailments.  Colloidal Silver, found at most natural health stores or vitamin shops, will work wonders on an ear infection.  I cleared up CK's ear infection in about an hour using Similasan earache relief drops.  I only had to use it once.
