FOUR!
Friday night we headed down to the farm for a little family time. Christian is turning the big FOUR on the 10th, so this was a weekend get-away with his birthday in mind. It seems like when we stay at home we always end up doing chores and errands. At the farm, we just relax and enjoy each other. Originally, we had invited a few others but there were a lot of mishaps. It ended up being the four of us and my brother, Shane.
Christian rode down with Shane Friday morning. Shane told him he had a surprise for him, but he wasn't going to tell him what it was. They stopped at his storage, where something caught Christian's attention. He asked "What is that gun for?". Shane told him that it was for him. Christian grinned ear to ear. Shane set it in the seat next to Christian and said he stared at it for the majority of the ride, repeatedly asking "Are you going to show me how to shoot it?". When they arrived, as Shane was unloading, he saw CK hop out with his new BB gun and box of BBs in hand dragging it along the ground. He just couldn't wait. He was so excited! Shane sent me a text and said that CK was a great shot. (Then sent me a text that said "Just cause I taught him. Psshh. Duh.")
We watched him shoot targets that night and the next day. He really is pretty good!
The next morning, Ryan woke up at about 5:45 to head to Houston to get Christian's present from us. This was a total surprise. We had mentioned it to CK, but didn't tell him it was a done deal. Our whole family has enjoyed this gift. : )
While Ryan was gone, Shane and Christian went fishing. Christian thought he was super cool as Shane's sidekick.
You probably shouldn't mess with these guys.
We (meaning mostly I) like to find bones in the woods.
The solemn boys after a slow morning at the pond.
What a fun way to get clean!
Underwear and gang signs always make for an excellent pose.
He went all Evil Knievel and actually drove the fourwheeler around like this.
A neat find
I never have many pictures of Taylor Rose because she is either sleeping or I am holding her behind the camera. Pretty baby girl.
She enjoyed the water, too!
What is this look for???
THE REVEAL!!!:
Sarah, as CK named her, absolutely looooved Shane. I think CK got the name from Cera on The Land Before Time. He loves that movie. Either that or Nehansa's friend.
She smiles!
Sarah is a miniature potbellied pig. She won't ever get over 50 pounds, as long as we don't over-feed her. Right now she is about 4 months old and maybe 10 pounds, if that. We opted for a little bit older mini pig to save a little on cash. These guys aren't very cheap at all!
Pigs are the 4th most intelligent animal. They don't shed, don't stink, and are very clean. You can train them just like a dog. They are very sensitive, so only positive reinforcement is recommended. This pig is considered a domestic animal, not livestock.
How cool! I can't wait to read stories about your new pig!! And CK makes me want to have a son so bad! I love how all boy he is and he is just the cutest thing!
