Baby news

Taylor is out because it is apparently THE name right now. Ellie is out because too many people said "Oh! Ellie May?". Maybe Chloe? Chloe Rose Matthews? Ugh. This is hard.

Ever heard that it is okay to drink a glass of wine while pregnant? I have heard that, so when Ryan and I went out to Texas de Brazil for our anniversary I tried to sip a little champagne (it can't be much different than wine, right?). Well, that started a soccer tournament in my stomach! I spent the night hovered over the toilet. I will not try that again! Other than that, we had a great time - we LOVE that place.

I went to my dr. this week for my check up. I ran into a old classmate, Lisa Foushee, in the clinic. She and I are due around the same time and each have a three year old, so we had lots to talk about. According to my OB, everything is going great. The nurse asked me how I have been feeling. I told her that I have been getting a weird tingling sensation in my legs and the only thing that helps is to sit/stand very swayback. She said that the baby is sitting on my sciatic nerve, which is very common. I didn't have this problem with Christian because I think I carried him wider, if that makes sense. She suggested I try wearing a Belly Band. I picked up one up and have not had that weird feeling since! I actually feel so much more comfortable and don't have to push my stomach outward just so my legs don't go numb!

Here are a few pictures from May 2006. I had about 13 weeks to go...
Here I am now wearing my new Belly Band, with about 14 weeks to go...

A different boy

These last few months have been really off-schedule for Christian. With my loads of school work, Christian's baseball games, work, birthday parties, and social events, our routine has been completely thrown off course. We are doing good if we get him in bed by 9:30. Christian used to know what to expect each day, but now he asks a bazillion questions. I know the "whys," "whens,"and "hows" are also a stage.
This chaos has changed Christian. He is much clingier and has become a little shy.
  • When we took him to the Halloween party, he would barely say "trick or treat" and didn't go in the bounce house. (Though, he did end up doing really well when we went around the neighborhood.)
  • He won't play baseball anymore. Just as well, I thought it was too hectic for even an adult! Imagine being three! He just wants to sit with me in my lap and watch the other kids.
  • He will NOT let us leave him in Sunday school class.
  • He now cries when we leave in the morning.
  • We took him to play on the playground at Chick-Fil-A over the weekend and he wouldn't leave the bench.

Its hard to stay on a tight schedule with so much going on, so from now on we are going to have to pick and choose what events we can do. We don't have to do everything. No more baseball games and practice. No more letting him stay up "5 more minutes" (he likes to pull that one, only it ends up being 30+ minutes). No more running around all day long, going from place to place, and staying out until after 9:00.

He sure did make a cute Eddie Munster!...

So many people thought he was just so cute, so they gave him extra candy. Wow!...

He loved riding this horse with my sister, Kelli...
